Both works of literature were originally written in Chinese and translated later to English. The common feature in these books is that they contain Chinese history and many of the themes are similar. Though depicting different times in the history of China, they both give the reader a glimpse into the daily life of the Chinese in a traditional setting. Although these literary works can be analyzed and interpreted differently, there is one theme, which stands out in both, that is the role of gender in traditional Chinese life. This paper sets out to analyze both books and shed light into how gender was an important aspect of Chinese culture, including the purpose that members of both sets of gender, more so women served in their society. The Story of the Stone: The Golden Days provides an interesting read, especially with its enormous cast of female characters. This book does well to portray the domestic life of the Chinese in the 18th century. It is more of a love story, which delves into the intrigues of wealth and societal status. The author throughout the book portrays women as protagonists, a move contrary to that of previous authors from earlier times. This is not a common feature in Chinese literature given the fact that their society has always been patriarchal. The role of women as embodied in this book brings out the writer as a pro feminist. Women are responsible for most of the happenings in the society at the time, more so in the setting provided. The book can be interpreted simply as a form of literature defining the Chinese societal norms during the time it was set. Other than the outstanding theme of gender, there are others such as education, family and sibling rivalry. Reality and illusion form a central part of the story gi ven that it was initially set in a mythical realm before it was manifested in the actual world. Traditionally, the Chinese people are very religious and mythical, with their culture being an infusion of supernatural beliefs intertwined with real occurrences. For instance, the story begins with a mythical stone, which is a supernatural entity that finds its way into the mortal world. The stone is endowed with consciousness. Its fate is entangled with that of a creature from the Land of Illusion, as it is responsible for its transformation into a fairy girl (Cao 19). This creature vows to repay him with a debt of tears. In the real world, the main male character is born with a jaded spoon in his mouth and growing up is romantically entangled with a sickly girl who is a representation of the creature from the land of illusion. These excerpts are proof of Chinese cultural belief in mythology. From above it is clear how the author intended for the reader to be acquainted with the life of the Chinese people over the centuries. As a reader, I was able to comprehend how this society has undergone transformation over time to what it is today, especially where women are concerned. The love story in the book is the beginning of trouble for the family the author is discussing. In a society where women were betrothed to potential husbands long before they became adults, love between persons other than those intended for them was tragic. This is among the roles women are subjected to in the Chinese culture. There is no room for deciding their course of action as far as marriage is concerned. The main male character who loves a woman, despite him being destined to marry another, suffers this fate. Given an opportunity, they would have been married, despite opposition even from the supernatural realm where the fairy girl swore to avenge the stone through a debt of tears. The author further portrays women as guards of the home. This is evident through his use of various charac ters to depict how they would go to any lengths to protect their families and advance their interests. For instance, the matriarch of the family, the hero’s grandmother, exhibits qualities such as kindness and compassion, which help to keep her family together. She often provides a voice of reason whenever any crisis looms in the household. This is despite the fact that she is in charge of a very large compound of extended family members. One particular aunt fusses over the large family and can be said to be almost perfect in maintaining peace, not to mention how well she gets along with the matriarch. However, one of the more depressing characteristics of women in this book is the subordinate nature. They have been made to resign to less dominant roles, more often defined by their sexuality. Those that are married have to contend with the moral indiscretions of their husbands. The Chinese society has always been patriarchal; therefore, the men could do whatever they pleased even at the detriment of the fairer sex. The sister of the lead male character was groomed to be an official concubine. This is an example of how women at the time were undermined sexually. The entire literary work does little to portray women as being strong and in command of their destiny despite the fact that it still brings out positive aspects of their lives. As aforementioned, China is one of the countries that oppress women greatly, especially at the time when the book was set. Big Breasts and Wide Hips is set in different times in Chinese historical wars and revolutions. The characters in the book take the reader through these periods of change in Chinese society readers are taken through the ordinary life of the Chinese during the war period. Unlike the other book, the background is tumultuous and insecure. In the story of the stone, the story revolved around opulence, what the characters went through to obtain it, their lifestyle and the eventual decline of their dynasties . There was no war; therefore, the tribulations of women were far less concerning than those in this book. However, the domestic setting is still given priority in this work although in a different manner, brought about by the conflicting historical backdrops of the stories at hand. Contrary to the other book, the author of this work brings out women to be strong and in command of their own lives, albeit using unconventional means such as their sexuality. Most chapters of the book are set during wars and revolutions, from the Japanese Invasion to the Mao Communist Era. Before having a male child the matriarch in this story undergoes tremendous abuse from her husband’s family. This is among the ways in which women in this society are oppressed. It was of essence that the patriarchy be extended through generations of male offspring. Failure to do so warrants mistreatment from one’s family. It is of concern that her husband was sterile, a fact which should have been blame d for their misfortunes. Additionally, the wrath unleashed on the matriarch included that of the female members of the household, whom one would expect to come to her defense. These further displays the aspect of submission expected of women in the Chinese society at the time. The sterility of the matriarch’s husband is an obvious hindrance to procreation. Despite this complication, she manages to have nine children with the last being the much desired male heir. This is puzzling except for the fact that readers are taken through her sexual escapades. It therefore goes without question that her children are the result of illicit relationships. Being a war period, these relationships include rape and an incestuous affair with her uncle (Mo 198). None of this matters, for as long as she finally delivers a male heir. All this efforts are in vain because by the time she has a male child all those that persecuted her are dead because of war. It is not of help that she delivers in the middle of a raging battle. One wonders at the sanity of society at the time. The inflictions on womenfolk do not have any justification, especially if the supposed heir fails to live up to societal expectations. In this case, the title of the book attracts the reader to this significant aspect of gender roles. It points at eroticism and some sort of female dominance, at least in the story at hand. The main male character is not befitting of the title. His obsession with female breasts leads him to ultimate ruin. First, he goes on to breastfeed until adulthood and thereafter allows himself to be dominated by his carnal desires. His stint in prison is caused by a foolish sexual act with a dead woman. Women in this book are seen as highly carnal beings that use their feminine attributes to achieve their desires. For instance, all the male protagonist’s sisters climb political and societal ladders, because of illicit affairs. The same women prevent the male heir from ascendin g to his rightful position as he constantly falls into temptation. Conclusively, both books satisfy those that are curious to understand the domestic aspect of the Chinese culture. Based on mythology and traditions passed down through generations, the role of women has been defined in various forms. Though the authors depict different times, their peek at domestic aspects of the Chinese society manages to bring out contrasting yet intriguing roles of women. Sometimes they are strong while other times vulnerable to societal norms and beliefs. However, despite these contrasting portrayals, women have managed to stand out and evolve throughout centuries to what they are today. Much of what they were being subjected to clearly arose from the times they were living in and the occurrences accompanying these periods, such as war. Mars Curiosity Rover is Uncovering Martian History Every day a robotic rover about the size of a small car wakes up and makes its next move across the surface of Mars. Its called the Curiosity Mars Science Laboratory rover, exploring around Mount Sharp at the center of Gale Crater (an ancient impact site)  on the Red Planet. Its one of two working rovers on the Red Planet. The other is the Opportunity rover, perched on the west rim of Endeavour Crater. The Mars Exploration Rover Spirit stopped working and is now silent after several years of exploration on its own. Each year, Curiositys science team celebrates another full Martian year of exploration. A Mars year is longer than an Earth year, roughly 687 Earth days, and Curiosity has been doing its job since August 6, 2012. It has been a momentous time, revealing dazzling new information about Earths neighbor in the solar system. Planetary scientists and future Mars mission planners are  interested in conditions on the planet, particularly its ability to support life. The Search for Martian Water One of the most important questions the Curiosity (and other) missions wants to answer is: what is the history of water on Mars? Curiositys instruments and cameras were designed to help answer that. It was fitting then, that one of Curiositys first discoveries was an ancient riverbed running underneath the rovers landing site. Not far away, at an area known as Yellowknife Bay, the rover dug into two slabs of mudstone (rock formed from mud)  and studied samples. The idea was to look for habitable zones for simple life forms. The study gave a definite yes, this could have been a place hospitable to life answer. Analysis of the mudstone samples showed that they were once at the bottom of a lake filled with water rich in nutrients. Thats the kind of place where life could have formed and flourished on the early Earth. If Mars had living organisms, this would have been a good home for them, as well.   Where Did the Water Go? One question that keeps coming up is, If Mars had a lot of water in the past, where did it all go? The answers suggest a range of places, from frozen underground reservoirs to the ice caps. Studies by the MAVEN spacecraft orbiting the planet strongly support the idea that some episode of water loss to space  occurred. This changed the planets climate.  Curiosity has measured various gases in the Martian atmosphere  and has helped Mars scientists figure out that much of the early atmosphere (which was probably wetter than now) escaped to space. More recent studies have revealed underground ice on Mars, and possibly salty meltwater just beneath the surface in some areas.   Rocks tell a fascinating story of Mars water. Curiosity  has determined of the ages of Martian rocks, and how long a rock has been exposed to harmful radiation. Rocks in direct contact with water in the past tell scientists more details about waters role on Mars. The big question: when did water flow freely across Mars is still unanswered, but Curiosity is providing data to help answer it soon. Curiosity  has also returned important information about radiation levels on the Martian surface, which would be important for assuring the safety of future Mars colonists. Future trips range from  one-way missions  to long-term missions that send and return multiple crews to and from the Red Planet. Curiositys Future Curiosity  is still running strong, despite some damage to one its wheels. That has led team members and spacecraft controllers to devise new study routes to accommodate the problem.The mission is one more step to the eventual human exploration of Mars. As with our exploration of Earth over the past centuries - using advance scouts  - this mission and others, like the MAVENmission and Indias Mars Orbiter Mission are sending back valuable word about the territory ahead, and what our first explorers will find.

4 Good Reasons to Go out and Vote in Elections It can be tedious standing in line  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ often for a significant period of time  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ to do something that youre not sure will make a difference. And if youre like many Americans, your day is already crammed full of must-do tasks and errands so you simply dont have time to stand in that line to vote. Why put yourself through it?   Because it often makes a difference. U.S. citizenship grants most the right to vote in American elections, and many new citizens cherish this right. Here are some of the reasons that they stand in line, and why you might want to do so as well.   The Role of the Electoral College   The Electoral College has something of a bum rap, especially over the last couple of decades. Its often said that leaders in the U.S. are chosen by the people in a majority vote, but is that the case with the presidential election? Doesnt the Electoral College interfere with the peoples majority? Yes, sometimes it does, but not very often. Five presidents have been elected to the White House after losing the popular vote: John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, George W. Bush, and Donald J. Trump. Technically, electors are supposed to vote for the candidate who won the popular vote in the state they represent. Population varies by state so the college is set up to accommodate this. California has more electoral votes than Rhode Island because its home to more voters. If a candidate wins a populous state such as California by just a small margin, all the states electoral votes still go to the winning candidate. The result? Lots of electoral votes, but maybe only a few thousand more popular votes. In theory, at least, that candidate may have received only one additional vote. When this happens across several large, populous states, its possible for the candidate with fewer popular votes to win in the Electoral College.   Voting Is Still a Privilege   Regardless of this wrinkle, democracy is a privilege that should not be taken lightly. After all, the Electoral College has prevailed over popular vote only five times and weve had 45 presidents. Many new immigrants know firsthand what its like to be governed by leaders who have not been chosen by the people all the time, not just in isolated elections. This is why many of them come to this country –  to be part of a democratic structure where representatives are elected by the people. If we all stopped participating in the electoral process, our democratic government could wither away. Pride in Your Adopted Homeland   Elections take place at the national, state and local levels. Taking the time to understand the issues and evaluate what each candidate has to offer helps to establish a sense of community and kinship for immigrants with fellow citizens across the nation. And state and local elections typically are decided by a majority of the people.   Its a Responsibility   The USCIS Guide to Naturalization says,  Citizens have a responsibility to participate in the political process by registering and voting in elections. In the naturalization oath, new citizens swear to support the Constitution of the United States, and voting is an integral part of that Constitution. No One Likes Taxation Without Representation   As a U.S. citizen, you want a say in where your taxes go and how this country is run. Voting for a person who represents shared visions and goals for your country is an opportunity to become part of the process.

People must never ever hold nature responsible for how they look. Color doesn’t and shouldn’t be a hurdle in someone’s life. People should learn how to convert their weaknesses into their strengths. Something that feels like a burden can actually become a support to climb higher. For instance, if someone feels lonely and left out, that person needs to make new friends. Zora Hurston was an African-American author and in her short narration, she confessed that she felt racially discriminated but that never hurt her. A new teenage magazine with the target Essay The brief was to produce a new teenage magazine with the target audiences of either or both male or female within the target range of 13 to 19 years old. In the process of the production we could working in groups or individually. Working in a group of three produce front page and a double page spread article for the new magazine. In the production each member of the group need to have a minimum of three original pictures. Before staring the production i made a project schedule to with deadline for each sections of the production. To fulfil the brief i started researching similar text. It would best suit me to produce a magazine for male audience hence researched magazines complementing boys titles such as TOPGEAR, EVO and MAX POWER. The mise en scene and the conventions of all these magazines had resemblance regards to the design, layout. For example the magazine names where all in bold fonts with use of strong colours representing stereotypical macho man characteristics. Technical codes such as the high angle shots used to denote the power of the cars. All the magazines included vast number of images that consist of Mid shots, Mid Close Up and Mid Long shots of the cars facing the magazine to grab the attention of the readers so that they wont be bored of reading a long article. The researches into similar text help me to decide some important aspects of the magazine. I carried out a questionnaire and interviews. the questionnaire was give to both males and females. I found that there was a demand for teenage car magazine in the market but my foundings showed that females didnt have much of interest in cars. The males where asked if they would or wont buy the magazine the majority said they would if the magazines contented more of their interests of sex and cars. Whereas females lacked interest. in the questionnaire the done most participants were interested customising their cars. And that they find the cost of insurance and fuel to high some when considering to sale their cars. I have chosen my target audience to be male so both of the interviewee i interviewed where males between 16-19 drives. From this i would be able observe the interests and the difficulty first hand. To meet the demand of the targeted audience i have decided to have an article on ways to get cheaper and more affordable insurance. The format that I have decided to adopt is similar to the one of the other Car magazines and as this I found from the interview was preferable by my target audience. I have chosen the name TOPSPEED which follows the stereotype that most male readers want fast cars and babes. I would be reviewing a car that relates to target audience cars that has small engine and cheaper insurance category so that student can financially afford to drive it. The planning involved a subject matter research where the main research was done for Ford Fiesta ST in areas like car specification and its stability for young drives using i cold write up the double page spared article. The other area i researched was for student car insurance. This could be used to write up a mini article to help and give advice for getting cheap car insurance. I had never used Photoshop before so the whole process was an opportunity to learn new skill. I got some practise on Photoshop and Publisher before i started the final production. The technical skills that we practised in class include lighting. Regarding lighting, it can be used to create a particular mood. I started off by brainstorming me ideas. Finally deciding on car giving information and review car of a car that is affordable to teenagers as my target market will be more interested in rather than an expensive car that they may have trouble affording. I had descried to review the new Ford Fiesta ST because this would perfectly for my targeted audience since it had a small engine which uses less fuel plus it had i low insurance category meaning lower insurance premium. The Ford Fiesta ST was the sport version denoting speed and boy racers. Regards the design Ford was a very good looking Supermini which would easily grab the attention of the targeted audience. Analyzing the questionnaire cost of insurance was other area where young drivers had difficulties so i had decided to add tip to get cheap insurance. I write up a draft article using the information from the research which i will later improve for a magazine standard. Use this i experiment different layout for front cover and the double page spread and the use of font size different colours so that i had clear idea what work and what doesnt in a car magazine plus this help with how i want to take the pictures. I experimented with different typeface for the magazine name with different fonts colours and size to see which suits best for the front cover. Before the photo shoot i had to have a miscellaneous paperwork and productions design which includes the location of the shoot which is in Edgware i wont do any alteration to set design which is the car showroom. The showroom will have a good lighting so there is no need for me to arrange any sort of lighting for the shoot. I could have different action for the cars open doors or turn the wheel sideways will show the wheels properly and give the car character. The miscellaneous paperwork need to be done for risks assessment, equipment book forms, access permission and call sheets to be taken to the shoot location signed and dated by the person give the permission to take the photos The photo shoot was hard to arrange I called up several Ford dealerships to organise a photo shoot but only a couple of the dealership agreed to let me take pictures in there showrooms. The space around the car was limited for that reason most of the pictures i took was close up shoot or mid shoots i wasnt able to get any long shoot which would have helped show all the outer features of the car. The showroom had too much light i couldnt take some of the photos that i wanted. The car was parked in way that i could get pictures from back of the car. I wanted to take close up pictures of the speed-o-meter of the car but the staring wheel came was obstruction which i couldnt get clear picture. The staring wheel was locked which meant i couldnt turn the wheel sideways which is a convention in must car magazines. I didnt want the background of the photos i took using Photoshop i cut them out with the Magic wand tool and using the smudge tool smoothen the edges. I did this with most of the photos i wanted to use in the production. i decides to use black background for the red car. This is because the colour of the car would stand out and it strong male on your face colours. When i placed the photos on the cover page over a black background you could still see the ragged edges around the car. To solve this problem i added drop back shadow which covered the edges. I decided to use all caps and with modern but simple bold fonts in white colour that would stand out with black background. I downloaded a font from internet that you could make barcode with it this way i could customize the barcode specifically for my magazine. Inside the magazine for the main headings i used the same fonts as i had on the front cover. Experimenting with the layout I found one that would suit the best for the double page article. I divided the columns into equal sizes with little gaps between to make it easy to read. I give white border around the all the pictures used in the double page spared and place them on top of each other to give it a nice effect. When i improved my draft article and paste it into the columns of the double page spread using auto flow the article was too long and didnt fit into the area i wanted it. I thought that teens would be bored to read a long article so i decided to shorten it. I decided to have a different colour background for the mini article about insurance.

No critic denies that Pope's Essay On Man is among the most beautifully written and best of his works, but few also deny that Pope's Essay On Man is an incoherent conglomeration of "incongruous scraps" ("A Letter..." 88) of philosophical axioms. In forming An Essay On Man into perhaps the greatest philosophical poem ever written, Pope masterfully incorporates allusions and metaphors in which to constrict a world of meaning into the compact work that verse must be, in comparison to prose. Perhaps, then, Pope's greatest flaw is that, because a work of philosophy must be coherent and complete in order to be successful in most cases, An Essay On Man is too difficult to decipher because the structure and sequence of the work, as well as allusions and metaphors, while ad ding to the quality of verse, diminish the quality of the philosophical work. Pope's only mistake in writing An Essay On Man is his attempt to fit too much information into such a compressed work. However, viewed as separate thoughts, the majority of passages in the Essay seem to hold true - not a central and coherent truth, but an "angular and splintered" truth (De Quincey 224). As a philosophical argument represented in verse, the simplification of so many varying theories cannot be avoided. While the Essay lacks central doctrinal coherence, it still succeeds as a poem, even at the expense of its philosophy (Edwards 37). Classroom Management Plan Essay

A classroom management plan is the road map for an effective teaching and learning environment. Classrooms are communities that only succeed when citizens work together, and take responsibility for their actions. It includes the physical environment, routines, student-teacher interactions, volunteers, expectations, rules, responsibilities, and consequences. †¢ Student-teacher interaction – Teachers support students in academic and social learning by remaining calm and consistent in all circumstances. This includes teaching how to take responsibility for behavior, making good choices, and learning from mistakes. Students are more motivated when mutual respect exists (Jones & Jones, 2010). It is important for teachers to demonstrate interest in students. When students believe their teacher cares about them, they respect him or her. †¢ Behavioral expectations – Clear expectations are important for student understanding and success. Discussion of expected behaviors and consequences assist in clarifying appropriate behaviors. Modeling, practicing, and role-playing teach students proper behaviors. Negative behaviors are treated as teachable moments to continually educate students. †¢ Incentive program – Students who exhibit exemplary behavior receive class money toward the class store. Money is only given to students who exceed expected behaviors or achievements. Once a month, they have an opportunity to shop at the school store. †¢ Desk arrangement – It is important for students to know each other, and to know about each other’s experiences, values, and perceptions. Desks arranged in groups foster student to student relationships and collaboration among students. Desks are rearranged throughout the year. †¢ Teacher’s desk and other work areas – Close proximity to students enhances student-teacher relationships, so the teacher’s desk will be as close as possible with a clear walkway to student’s desks. Other work areas such as computer desks and reading club table are easily accessible for smooth transitions. †¢ Wall hangings – Wall hangings include school and classroom rules, expectations, and procedures. One wall includes a word-wall students build and refer to throughout the year. Other hangings include schedules, unit information, inspirational pictures, and general information. †¢ Routines and procedures – Routines and procedures are established, and practiced from the first day of school. They include arrival procedures, attendance, lunch count, bathroom breaks, transitions within the classroom, and transitions outside the classroom, passing out materials, submitting assignments, and end-of-day procedures. †¢ Parent volunteers – Parent volunteers are an important part of the classroom. Students enjoy seeing their parents in the class, and around the school. When parents volunteer, students behave and perform better. It provides opportunities for parents to understand the classroom community. When parents understand the classroom management, they can assist teachers in supporting it. Rules and Consequences To prevent disruptions, and maintain consistency in a classroom, rules and consequences must be clear and consistent. Some behaviors warrant only saying a student’s name, or walking over to the student. This provides subtle re-direction without embarrassment. Other behaviors require stronger intervention, such as removal from the classroom, teacher-student-parent discussions, or office referrals. Students are capable of demonstrating mutual respect of feelings and belongings, raising hands to be called upon, honesty, cleanliness, paying attention, and hard work. Classroom rules support these capabilities, and are used to promote positive behavior and student success. The first day of school, students and teacher together compile a list of rules and corresponding consequences. They may include: following directions, being prepared, respecting personal space, mutual respect for people and property, work quietly, kindness, good manners, and safety. A contract outlining class rules is provided to students. Students are required to review the contract with their parents and both must show understanding by signing it. Consequences are designed to support rules and expectations. Behaviors may result in positive or negative consequences. Positive consequences reinforce positive behaviors. They may include: good grades, verbal praise, written praise, self-pride, lunch with the teacher, extra computer time, and free time. Negative behaviors disrupt instruction and impact the classroom community. Consequences are designed to alleviate disruptions, and teach students to contribute positively to the classroom community. Although consequences depend on behaviors, some negative consequences may include: adjusting seating arrangement, missing recess to complete assignments, cleaning up messy work areas or the lunch room, bad grades, removal of fun activities, office referrals, and parent phone calls. Task Analysis of Procedures –Attending Assemblies An assembly is scheduled for 10:00am in the gym. Below is a task analysis of going to the assembly, and going back to the classroom after the assembly. 1. The principal announces by grade order, lowest to highest, to go to the assembly in the gym. 2. Teacher asks students to clear their desks, stand up, and push in their chairs. 3. Students clear their desks, stand up and push in their chairs. 4. Teacher asks students to quietly line up in alphabetical order. 5. Students quietly line up in alphabetical order. 6. Teacher reviews proper assembly behavior. a. Students should sit still, keeping hands, arms and legs to themselves. b. Students should not talk during the assembly. c. If asked for volunteers, students should raise hands, not call out. d. Students should clap when the assembly is over. It is a way of saying â€Å"thank you. † e.When assembly ends, students remain seated until teacher tells them to stand. f. Teacher reminds students to sit at their desks when they return from the assembly. 7. Teacher leads students down the hallway to the gym. a. Stay on the right side of the hallway. b. If a lower grade class needs to pass, the students stop and wait quietly against the right wall while the other class passes. c. If class is passing another class, they should walk quietly on the left side of the hallway. 8. Enter the gym through the southeast door. 9. Lead the line of students to their correct places. 10. Ask them to quietly sit down. 11. Take your seat in the folding chair at the end of your class row. 12. When assembly is over classes will exit the gym in grade order, lowest to highest. 13. Teacher stands up and reminds students to remain seated. 14. When it is time, teacher asks students to quietly stand up and remain in their line. 15. In case of emergency: The class evacuates the building through the east doors. The students should calmly, but quickly line up, leave the building and walk straight up the hill. If you have an emergency in the classroom, you may call the office by pressing ‘office’ button on the phone. There is a fire alarm lever in the hallway to the left of the classroom door. In the event of a lockdown, teacher and students sit quietly by the north wall (under the coat rack). Classroom management: Rules, expectations, and procedures are posted on the wall. There is class money given to students who exhibit exceptional behavior. At the end of the month, provide an opportunity to shop in the school store. The store is located in the standing cabinet next to the bookshelves. Disruptive students should adjust their behavior when you say their name, or walk over to them. If they do not, they may be pulled aside to discuss reasons for their behavior and how to adjust it. If they continue to be disruptive, they may stay in at recess to reflect on their behavior. Please consult the management plan for further details. Please leave me documentation of disruptive behaviors, and their consequences. There is a documentation form with the management plan. Implementation Plan Beginning on the first day of school rules and expectations will be practiced, reviewed, and posted. They will also be reviewed throughout the year as necessary. To increase student ownership, there will be a rotation of student helpers who have extra responsibilities such as passing out papers, and delivering home lunches to the lunch room. Positive and negative behaviors will be quickly and consistently addressed to reduce disruptions. Students who are engaged are more likely to demonstrate positive behaviors. It is important to understand students’ learning styles, interests, and experiences when designing instruction. Instructional activities should be varied to promote positive learning experiences therefore reducing misbehaviors. Differentiated and individualized instruction may be implemented to further engage students. Parents support implementation when they foster positive teacher-parent relationships, and support the classroom rules and expectations. Parents ensure their students complete assignments, and prepare them for submission. They assist teaching student’s proper behaviors, and the skills needed to make positive choices. Letter to Parents Dear Parents, I am excited to welcome your child to my class. Our classroom is a community where together we will strive for success by working together, and relying on each other. To achieve success, it is important for you, me, and your child to work together. I have high academic and behavioral expectations for my students, and with your support in and out of the classroom, I believe we will have a fun, successful school year. I encourage you to volunteer in the classroom. Students love seeing their parents in school. It allows students extra one-on-one and small group work, which is increases their performance. Being involved is also an excellent way to gain information on what your child is learning and experiencing while at school. Involvement in your child’s education is vital for success. I realize my students are involved in many different activities, but I ask you to please make school and homework a top priority. You can do that by establishing bedtimes, homework routines, reviewing completed work, providing praise and support. I also ask that you contact me if you ever have questions or concerns. Principals or other administrators also effectively assess classroom management plans. Teachers should consult with principals for guidance in specific areas of classroom management. They understand when students respond positively or negatively to teachers. It is helpful for administrators to review the written classroom management plan, such as reviewing strategies addressing student behavior and reward or incentive programs.
